The best of the week's live comedy

The week ahead in live comedy.

Monday July 10

LONDON: It's the one-woman show with a cast of dozens. Musical impressionist Jess Robinson plays the Underbelly Festival on the South Bank tonight and Wednesday.

LONDON: You might have seen both  Ed Byrne and Hal Cruttenden on Mock The Week last week. Now they are both on a charity gig at the Comedy Store for medical charity HemiHelp, along with Paddy Lennox and Pippa Evans.

LONDON: The Miller Comedy Festival, six nights of top stand-up at The Miller pub in London Bridge, kicks off with Mitch Benn,  Paul Foot, Tony Law and Abigoliah Schamaun.  See the full listings here

Wednesday July 12

LONDON: Dara O Briain headlines a benefit for  The Brain Tumour Charity at the Backyard Comedy Club in Bethnal Green,  put together by Hal Cruttenden, who has been a supporter of the charity since losing his mum to a brain tumour several years ago. Tony Law. and Bennett Arron are also on the bill.

LONDON:  The Establishment Club, the night that attempts to revive the underground spirit of Peter Cook's 1960s venue of the same name, comes to the suitably classy Brasserie Zedel in Piccadilly. Cook would surely have approved of dictatorial crooner Frank Sanazi, who shares the bill with sardonic  David Mills, musical Rainer Hersch and veteran character comedian Steve Furst.
HARROGATE: It's two McLoughlins for the price of one tonight as affable Danny hosts the darkly amusing voice of millennial artistic poverty Sean. Add in stupidly surreal metalhead Andrew O'Neill and skilled storyteller Justin Moorhouse, and you've got yourself a great night. By coincidence, the non-related McLoughlins are at the Frog and Bucket in Manchester for the next three nights, too.

Friday July 14

LONDON: You can't beat the venue. The Cutty Sark, the tea clipper that's now a museum in Greenwich, plays host to a season of Edinburgh previews over the next couple of weeks, starting with Rob Broderick and Elf Lyons.
