Romesh Ranganathan has made another travelogue series, shot alongside performances of his stand-up show Hustle.
Can’t Knock The Hustle – which is still a working title – mixes routines from his arena show about getting the work-life balance right with footage of him finding out about different cultures’ approaches’ to the issues.
Cameras followed the comic as he visited India, the USA, South Korea and Canada ‘interrogating, unravelling and debunking his own material, ‘
Ranganathan said: ‘Stand-ups often deliver a show completely unchecked by logic. We decided to film a series exploring what I’d said on stage and whether I was right. This show confirms the suspicion that I often don’t know what I’m talking about.’
The the four-part series, which will air on Sky Max next year, is being made by the comic’s production company Ranga Bee.
Its managing director, Benjamin Green, who also directed the show, added: ‘It takes a special kind of person to diligently fact-check their tour show – but an even more special kind to wait until after they’ve performed it for thousands of people. Romesh is that person.’
Ranganathan has previously toured the world with Asian Provocateur, along with his mum Shanthi and four series of The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan as well as shooting on location for Rob & Romesh Vs.. and a League of Their Own Roadtrip:
He also hosts the sports quiz, which returns to Sky in the new year, as well as The Weakest Link for BBC One.
