Kiell Smith-Bynoe reacts to Mrs Brown's Boys NTA win

comedyThe British people have once again voted Mrs Brown's Boys the best comedy on television.

Brendan O’Carroll's much-derided comedy took home the title at the audience-voted  National Television Awards last night for a record fifth time.

It picked up more support than Sky’s Brassic, Guy Ritchie’s Netflix series The Gentlemen, Ghosts  and Lee Mack’s Not Going Out.

Kiell Smith-Bynoe, who plays Mike in Ghosts, apparently couldn’t hide his contempt for the result, with cameras panning to him looking unimpressed in the audience.

And late last night, he suggested his hit BBC One show had been robbed when he posted a meme saying: ‘I’d like to report a crime.’

Last month, Smith-Bynoe had urged fans to vote for the show, writing on X: ‘Don't let Mrs Browns Boys beat us again.'

One viewer tweeted last night: ‘'Can't tell if Kiell Smith-Bynoe was doing his "angry"/belligerent act like he did on Taskmaster or was genuinely fuming at Mrs Brown's Boys win!' wrote one.’

After the result was announced the Mrs Brown's Boy official social media page posted: ‘Thank you so much for voting for us—wow, we didn’t expect that!

It later added: ’Thank you once again everyone that voted, with out the public vote there is no show for anyone thank you.'
