Talk about joke theft!

Dara Ó Briain is the victim of a ‘shocking’ crime

comedyDara Ó Briain has been the victim of a ‘shocking’ crime on the supposedly genteel island of Guernsey.

And the happened in a converted church –   St James Concert and Assembly Hall – at that.

The comedian revealed the harrowing incident on social media, telling how an audience member stole his notes from the stage.

‘At the end of the gig, I went back out and my notes were missing,’ he said on X. ’So we launched a massive search, including going over all the security footage, and we found the moment of theft.’

Ó Briain then showed the video, demonstrating just how sneaky the thief had been:

To the comic’s surprise, the person had met him after the show and invited him for a drink elsewhere – which is where he tracked them down.

Ó Briain confronted the group who he said were ‘a bit sheepish’ in being caught red-handed.

His final words of warning were: ‘If you're planning a life of crime, there are a lot of cameras around.’

Stand down, Bergerac.
