Bailey has his trademark locks chopped

comedy Bill Bailey has cut his trademark flowing locks.

Posting a picture of his new look on Facebook he wrote: ‘After many, many years of being a barbershy hippy I’ve finally had a haircut . Feels a bit weird, but I’m learning to like it.’

The picture attracted almost 5,000 comment, including one fan who said: ‘Expect an exponential rise in the number of people coming up to you and saying "you look just like Bill Bailey but without the hair’.

The comic has admitted to thinking about having it cut before – once telling Danny Baker on his 5 Live radio show that he might go under the scissors for safety reasons.

He said: ‘There was a barbecue incident when I nearly when up because I was learning stupidly and hadn’t tied my hair back… and a wisp had gone up.

‘There was another time when it got caught in a door and then I used the electric window on the car and it got caught it in the window… I thought maybe this was a message to get rid.

‘I was very close to it then my son said, "Hey Dad, you know with your hair it makes you look like a badass" So that was that.’

That interview was more than eight years ago so he certainly took his time to take the plunge.:
