Dick's out! Noel Fielding launches new highwayman comedy
The stars of The Completely Made-Up Adventures Of Dick Turpin lined up for a press call last night.
And although the period comedy was made for Apple TV+, star Noel Fielding apparently didn’t get the memo and wore a vivid pink shirt from Warner Bros, featuring Bugs Bunny and the ‘That’s All Folks…’ catchphrase.
Fielding was joined at Claridge’s in London by his co-stars Hugh Bonneville, Tamsin Greig, Asim Chaudhry, Ellie White, Mark Wootoon and Duayne Boachie.
Downton Abbey and W1A star Bonneville plays corrupt lawman and self-appointed thief-taker Jonathan Wilde in the series, which launches on March 1.
Friday Night Dinner’s Greig plays Lady Helen Gwinear, is the elected leader of the Syndicate, a union of organised crime groups; while White is Nell Brazier, one of Dick Turpin’s Essex Gang.
Chaudhry plays Craig the Warlock, who is petrified of being caught performing magic without a licence and Hollyoaks star Boachie is Honesty Courage, another of the highwayman gang, alongside Wooton as Moose Pleck.
The series cast also includes Joe Wilkinson, Greg Davies, Mark Heap, Jessica Hynes, Paul Kaye and Guz Khan, some in regular roles and some as guests.
The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin has been created by Claire Downes, Ian Jarvis and Stuart Lane who previously wrote ITV’s The Job Lot starring Russell Tovey and Sarah Hadland and is made by production company Big Talk.
