No wonder the Inbetweeners' awkwardness was so real...
It is a classic comedy scene depicting an awkward teenage sexual encounter.
And now Emily Atack has revealed that the intimate moment with Simon Bird on the set of The Inbetweeners was barely less uncomfortable in real life.
She said the main problem was that she was 17 at the time of filming while Bird was in his late 20s – despite playing sixth-former Will.
Speaking to Rob Brydon on his podcast, Emily said: 'He had to get on top of me and I remember thinking I'm going to have to say something to break the ice, and I said, "How does it feel being on top of a 17-year-old?"
'He was like, "You're 17! Oh my God." He was mortified.'
Here’s the scene:
Atack, who played Charlotte Hinchcliffe, also spilled the beans on how Bird and co-stars James Buckley, Blake Harrison and Joe Thomas, managed to look much younger than their real ages.
She said: 'Every time I walked into the dressing rooms they were having their chests shaved.'
