The comic on getting recognised... sort of

Sara Pascoe says someone once approached her on the London Tube to say: ‘I am so sorry, this is going to sound ever so strange, but you look just like a comedian called Sara Pascoe.  No offence.’ 

Recalling the incident on Graham Norton’s BBC One chat show tonight, the stand-up joked: ‘I had to pretend I had never heard of me!’

Giving another example of being slightly famous, she recalls an incident before lockdown when her GP brought his wife into the surgery waiting room to meet her.

‘Nobody else in the waiting room knew why, so it just looked like I had something exotic [wrong with me],’ she recalls.

Also appearing on tonight’s show is Lolly Adefope, who talks about her blink-and-you’ll miss it appearance in Mission Impossible: Fallout.

She said: ‘I was booked for two hours and appeared for about one second in Mission Impossible.

‘When Tom Cruise broke his ankle slamming into a building I was actually there behind the window because, after a long audition process, I was cast as "woman at desk".’
