Johnny Vegas has finally quit smoking – thanks to a bizarre ritual involving a 36-year-old Madonna hit.
The comic says he forced himself to dance to the superstar’s first hit Lucky Star every time he craved a cigarette – an act so humiliating that it would stop him reaching for a fag.
Vegas tweeted: "Every time I seriously consider having a cigarette I make myself dance for at least 10 seconds to her Lucky Star hit.
‘It’s not a good look for me and does actually help bolster the social embarrassment bit of my brain while it fights its corner against addiction.

At his peak, the 49-year-old comic was on 60 a day, and said previous attempts to quit caused him to pile on weight.
Last year he was slapped with a £150 fine for littering after throwing a cigarette butt into a drain in Doncaster.
