Board game redesigned around puns on comics' names

comedyComedian Dave Cribb has created a new version of the Monopoly board using the names of famous comics.

Squares now include Shappi Khor-Strand-I, PicaBilly Connolly and Park Laney Henry

One of the tax squares is named simply Jimmy Carr, who famously used a controversial tax avoidance scheme, while the other is a ‘Superkins tax’.

Among other squares are The Angel Nishlington, NorhumberlAndy Parsons Avenue, Stephen Fry Parking and the stations John Oliverpool Street, Dawn FrenchChurch Street

Cribb, one of the creators of the Amusical show, gathered suggestions for his pun-based alternatives after mishearing a question about the game on The Chase, thinking Bradley Walsh had mentioned Sara Pascoe when in fact it was the ‘pass go’ instruction.

Radio producer Greg Hughes then compiled all the ideas into a graphic version of the board (click to see a larger version)
