First guests announced for America's Have I Got News For You

Comedy panel show launches on CNN this weekend

The first guests have been announced for the US version of Have I Got News For You as it prepares to make its debut on Saturday night.

Comedian Robin Thede, creator and star of A Black Lady Sketch Show and journalist, author and political pundit Matt Welch will be the guests on the CNN show.

They join previously announced team captains Amber Ruffin and Michael Ian Black as well as host Roy Wood Jr to offer their witty  take on the news of the week – with the Presidential debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris likely to feature prominently.

Have I Got News For You will regularly air Saturdays at 9pm on CNN  and will then be available to stream on Max the following day.

CNN executive Amy Entelis previously said: ‘We are betting audiences will welcome the opportunity to laugh and find humour in this year of the unrelenting news cycle.’

The show is being made by Hat Trick Productions, which has made the BBC original since it started in 1990.
