'Spirit of the Fringe' awards for Elf Lyons and David Eagle

Handed out by festival stalwart Mervyn Stutter

Edinburgh stalwart Mervyn Stutter has announced his annual ‘spirit of the Fringe' awards.

Comedians Elf Lyons and David Eagle are among the recipients, who will receive their award on Saturday.

Eagle, who earlier this week won the Outstanding Visually Impaired category at the Neurodiverse Review Awards said: 'What an honour. The list of previous winners is full of comedy legends. And now there's me. I now feel like it’s incumbent on me to try and become more well-known in comedy, so as not to completely devalue this prestigious award.'

Stutter’s Pick Of The Fringe variety show is now in its 31st year, and is staged every lunchtime in Pleasance One.

Also receiving  ‘spirit of the Fringe' awards this year are the theatre show Kafka’s Ape, Oliver Harris’s Roy Orbison tribute act, and dance shows Sushi Tap Show 2024, Lewis Major: Triptych and Dance N'Speak Easy.
