£1,000 first prize

Entries have opened for the Leicester Square Theatre's annual New Comedian of the Year competition.

The talent contest, now in its 15th year, typically attracts  hundreds of acts vying for the title and £1,000 prize.

The contest is open to any non-professional act who has been performing for five years or less and entries from character acts, musical acts and sketch groups are encouraged. 

Previous winners and finalists include Rob Beckett, Rachel Parris, Sofie Hagen, Tim Renkow and Jessica Fostekew, plus 2023 champion Sallyann Fellowes.

The winner of this year’s competition will be revealed at the final at Leicester Square Theatre, Central London, on  December 8. Tickets are on sale here.
