1970s sitcom star Tony Selby dies at 83

Actor's credits include Get Some In

Actor Tony Selby – who starred in1970s sitcom Get Some In – has died at the age of 83.

His other credits include a  recurring role in Doctor Who as Sabalom Glitz; a stint in Minder as Jack, the minder of gangster's wife Rose Mellors’ the chauffeur to Adam Faith's character in the drama series Love Hurts and as  Clive Mitchell in Eastenders.

His biggest role was as Corporal Percy Marsh  in the ITV comedy Get Some In, about RAF recruits during national service, which ran for five series on ITV. It was created by Good Life and Ever Decreasing Circles writers John Esmonde  and Bob Larbey 

His agent said today: ‘It is with great sadness we announce that the actor Tony Selby passed away peacefully in London yesterday.

‘In a career spanning 70 years in theatre, film and TV, Tony was highly respected and loved by family, friends and colleagues. His renowned sense of humour will be missed by us all.’
