Fry & Laurie biography updated

Including 20 new unseen sketches

The official biography of Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie’s double act has been updated for its paperback release next month.

Originally published in 2019, the new version of Soupy Twists covers recent developments, such as Fry being knighted, and includes additional previously unseen material.

While the hardback had more than sketches from Fry's personal archives, the paperback – out today – has all of those, plus 20 more, including what biographer Jem Roberts describes as ‘a very futuristic sketch in which Stephen and Hugh use videophone messaging to catch Nigel Havers with a rent boy’.

Later this month, the title will also be available as an Audible audiobook, read by Roberts, who has previously written about Douglas Adams, I’m Sorry, I Haven’t a Clue and  Blackadder.

Publication of the new edition – whose hardback  was nominated for best book in the 2019 Chortle Awards –    will be marked with a sketch show on Saturday as part of the Bath Comedy Festival.

This Wednesday marks 30 year to the day since A Little Bit Of Fry And Laurie ended its original four-series run on the BBC.

The new paperback is available from Amazon.
