Robin Ince announces his first Nine Lessons guests

Science-comedy shows return this Christmas

The first guests have been announced for Robin Ince’s annual Nine Lessons And Carols For Curious People gigs.

Mixing comedy, music, science and more, the shows will this year be held at Kings Place in Kings Cross on the nights of December 14, 15, 19 and 20.

Ince has been curating the shows since 2009, but this year the title has been changed to replace ‘godless’ with ‘curious’

Taking part will be

Friday December 14: Dr Hannah Fry, Dr Helen Czerski, Nickesh Shukla, Phillip Ball
Saturday  December 15: Prof Chris Lintott, Dr Adam Rutherford, Dr Dean Burnett, She Makes War, Michael Legge
Wednesday December 19:  Josie Long, Dr Karl Kruszelnicki, Joshua Idehen, Grace Petrie, Prof Lucie Green
Thursday December 20: Prof Monica Grady, Prof Mark Miodownik, Matt Parker, Helen Zaltzman, Jonny Berliner

Many more guests will be announced closer to the time

The gigs will raise money for mental health charity Mind and Two Wheels for Life, which  supplies aid to remote African communities by motorcycle; while audiences will also be invited to bring donations to The Trussell Trust foodbanks
