Filming wraps on Catastrophe series 4

'I hope this news makes some people happy'

Filming has wrapped on the fourth series of Catastrophe, star Rob Delaney has revealed.

He tweeted: ‘Series 4 of Catastrophe is "in the can" as they say. It’s pretty good. Now we’ll edit it, add some music & ground-breaking CGI & then (at a date I don’t yet know) you’ll be able to watch it with your cousin Brad. I hope this news makes some people happy.’

His co-star and co-writer Sharon Horgan previously said that the new series would address  sex – or the lack of  it –  in long-term relationships.

Chris Noth – best known as Mr Big in Sex And The City –  is among the guest stars lined up to appear in the new series.

The cast also includes Friends From College star Nat Faxon; Logan Lucky and Phantom Thread actor Brian Gleeson; In Living Color comedian  David Alan Grier and  Julie Hesmondhalgh, who played  Hayley Cropper in Coronation Street for 16 years.

It was previously revealed that former Saturday Night Live cast member Michaela Watkins is set to play the sister of Rob Delaney’s character. Their mother was played by Carrie Fisher, so storylines in the next series are expected to address her death.

Catastrophe series 4 will air on Channel 4 later this year  and on  Amazon Prime in America.
