Playing an unhinged grief counsellor

Bridget Christie has joined cast of award-winning the BBC comedy Things You Should Have Done.

She plays an ‘unhinged and unprofessional grief counsellor’ called Ruth in the second series of  Lucia Keskin’s sitcom.

The news comes as filing starts on the second series in  Ramsgate in Kent.

Christie said: ‘I’ve always wanted to play a bisexual therapist in a Lucia Keskin TV show that films near the sea. Living the dream folks. Living the dream.’

The comedian has often spoken about how she never got a break as an actor. In an interview with The Big Issue this weekend she said: ‘From the age of 26 to 50, when I wrote the role of Linda in The Change for myself, I never got a single acting job from an audition.’

Keskin returns as Chi, trying to negotiate life’s basic tasks following the death of her parents

Daniel Fearn and Jamie Bisping will also return as father and son Dave and Lucas for the six new half-hour episodes.

The Roughcut produced series was named best comedy programme at the 2025 Broadcast Digital Awards and best scripted comedy at the 2025 Royal Television Society Awards.
