Bottom of the leaderboard in Halloween week

Chris McCausland had a shocker on tonight's Strictly Come Dancing, coming bottom of the Halloween week leaderboard.

His samba marked a terrible reversal of fortune for the comedian, who only last week came third with his waltz to  You’ll Never Walk Alone.

He and partner  Dianne Buswell opened tonight's show by raising from a graveyard to dance to Stayin Alive’ by The Bee Gees,

However, they scored just 26 from the judges: three sevens and one five, despite the comic's warning to them to 'be nice or I’ll eat your brains,'

But still there were kind words, especially from Motsi Mabuse who said McCausland 'nailed the character, you did more than stay alive, you survived the opening'.

Shirley Ballas said the blind comic 'over-cooked the bounce' but said his 'content and characterisation [was] fabulous"'.

Anton Du Beke said he 'lacked fluidity' but said the timing was 'exceptional'

And  Craig Revel Horwood concluded: 'Too much hopping, needed stretch and smoothness, shoulders raised, no hip action on the voltas but immaculate rhythm and magnificent acting.'

The pair share the bottom place on the leaderboard with Gorka Marquez and Dr Punam Krishan. The dreaded dance-off takes place on tomorrow night's show.
