Latitude unveils its all-female comedy headliners
Jo Brand, Joanne McNally and Judi Love have joined Sara Pascoe as comedy headliners for Latitude Festival.
Today’s announcement means that the biggest names at the event, held at Henham Park in Suffolk from July 25 to 28, are all women.
Also joining the line-up today are Lucy Beaumont, Rosie Jones, Marjolein Robertson, Grace Campbell, Sarah Keyworth, Sophie Duker, Thanyia Moore, Lara Ricote, Laura Smyth, Louise Young, Chantel Nash and Abi Clarke.
Brand said she was: ‘Looking forward to giving my ageing memory another challenge at Latitude this year and lying face down in the mud, trying to eat sweets.(That might have been another festival). Love the atmosphere, love the audiences, love the whole experience.’
Love added: It’s an absolute pleasure to be headlining at the amazing Latitude Festival. It’s even more exciting to know that the other headliners are incredible female comedians… Looking forward to a weekend of good food, Good Vibes and lots of laughter.’
Plus Alex Horne will be bringing his Horne Section to the comedy stage, which will this year be sponsored by TK Maxx.
Rounding off the comedy names announced today are Aurie Styla, Elliot Steel, Jake Lambert, Mark Simmons, Vidura Br, Dane Buckley, Jin Hao Li and Peter Rethinasamy.
The Cosmic Shambles Network return with a programme of events across the festival hosted by Robin Ince, including a special edition of his Nine Lessons, designed to provoke curiosity in an entertaining way, an episode of his horror-fiction podcast An Uncanny Hour, and daily book corner with guests including Natalie Haynes, Chris Lintott and Ayọ̀bámi Adébáyọ̀.
Pappys also make a return with their live panel game show Flatshare Slamdown.
As previously announced, the finalists in the 2024 Chortle Student Comedy Award will also take part in a showcase gig.
The musical headliners will be Duran Duran, Kasabian, Keane and London Grammar, while X Files and Californication star David Duchovny will be performing tracks from his latest album Gestureland, inspired by 1970s Californian rock and country.
