Michael McIntyre’s Big Show gets a seventh series

Back on BBC One next year

Michael McIntyre’s Big Show is to return to BBC One for a seventh series, the broadcaster has announced.

The new run will be filmed at London’s Theatre Royal, Drury Lane  and air next year.

It comes after the sixth series earlier this year attracted an average of 6.3million viewers – and generated a total of 90 million video views across the BBC’s social media accounts.

The comic said: ‘There isn’t a day that goes by without someone telling me how much they love this show, although strangely nobody seems to know what it’s called.

‘It’s either, "The one where you take people’s phones", "The one where you wake people up in the night", "The one where the wall falls down" or "The Big Night In".

‘Well, I’m thrilled to announce that all four of those shows are set to return for a seventh series’

The series was commissioned by Kalpna Patel-Knight, head of entertainment at the BBC, who said the programme was ‘full of joy with laugh-out-loud moments’.

Producers at Hungry McBear Media have put a call out for people to nominate singers or musicians who could be the next ‘unexpected star of the show’ or other   surprise segments. For more information, click here.

The last series of Michael McIntyre’s Big Show is still available on BBC iPlayer.
