Fleabag back in cinemas

Recording of Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s West End hit is being screened for the next week

Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s one woman stage version of Fleabag is returning to cinemas tomorrow.

A performance streamed live from her sold-out West End run last year is to be shown again in 13 Showcase Cinemas for the next week.

It is part of a tie-up with the National Theatre that includes several of its stage productions, including comedy Present Laughter, with Waller-Bridge’s  Fleabag co-star Andrew Scott.

Tickets will cost £5, as the chain slashes priced to encourage customers back into cinemas.

James Dobbin of Showcase Cinemas said: "‘It’s been a tough time for the theatre industry and theatre fans, so we’d like to show our support by bringing these performances to the big screen for fans to enjoy.’

Customers are encouraged to wear masks in the cinemas, which are blocking out some seats to ensure social distancing. Hand sanitising stations have also been installed.
