Barbara Nice makes BGT semis
Barbara Nice has made it through to the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent.
After the final audition show last night, the comedy alter-ego of Janice Connolly was selected by judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams to go through to the last 40.
The Stockport housewife character wowed judges when she took to the stage – and crowd-surfed off it – with Walliams saying: 'You are a comedy whirlwind... a star is born.’
Comedy-magician John Archer – best known to comedy fans as Tim Vine’s long-term support act – also made it through after recruiting Walliams to help him with a trick in last night’s show
They join Kojo Anim – a comic of 20 years standing – who was previously put through automatically when Simon Cowell used his golden buzzer.
Kojo has already been an opening act for visiting US comics, but has said: ’It's amazing to open up for comedians like Kevin Hart, but no one wants to be an opener for the rest of their life.’
Also through are harp-playing musical comedian Ursula Burns, the comedian and children's entertainer Graeme Mathews; magicians Ben Hart and Jonathan Goodwin; and ventriloquist Jimmy Tamley.
The live semi-finals run from tomorrow to Friday at 7.30pm on ITV, with the final next Sunday.
