Mrs Brown's Boys announces a musical tour

48 gigs for 2019

Mrs Brown’s Boys has announced a new arena tour – as a musical.

Creator Brendan O’Carroll has announced 48 gigs across 12 cities for Mrs. Brown’s Boys D’Musical?, kicking off in Glasgow on March 29.

He said: ‘Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Musical? will have you crying with laughter, tapping your toes and you will leave the show singing and smiling to yourself.

‘We are having such fun doing this and can’t wait to share it not just with fans of Mrs Brown’s Boys, but to anyone who needs a good night out.'

When news of the project first emerged in December, O’Carroll said that Noddy Holder of Slade, The Script, and new band  Picture This were helping with the music. ‘I’m lucky that everybody in the cast of Mrs Brown already sings,’ he said at the time. ‘Some of them have beautiful voices. And the ones that don’t, well one or two will be rapping.’

Mrs. Brown’s Boys has staged several live tours since 1999, long before it transferred to TV.

The last UK tour was the 2017 revival of Good Mourning Mrs Brown, while the family-led team toured Australia and New Zealand earlier this year.

The top-rated sitcom has also spawned the entertainment format All Round To Mrs Browns, while O’Carroll has just started hosting the BBC One quiz For Facts Sake as himself.

Tickets for D’Musical? go on sale Friday at 10am.
