Recorded at comedy venues around the UK

Angela Barnes is to host a new Radio 4 stand-up showcase recorded at comedy clubs around the UK.

Four 30-minute episodes of Live From The UKwill be taped this month at the Frog & Bucket in Manchester, The Glee Club in Birmingham and The Stand comedy clubs in Newcastle and Glasgow.

The BBC says: ‘Recording at some of the leading comedy clubs the country has to offer, Angela will bring the best acts from different regions to the airwaves for this high calibre stand-up showcase.’

The line-ups and recording dates are:

 April 14: Birmingham  with Josh Pugh, Scott Bennett, Tal Davies and Lindsey Santoro

April 15 Manchester with  Brennan Reece, Hayley Ellis, Melina Fiol and Josh Jones

April 21:  Glasgow with Susie McCabe, Stephen Buchanan, Jay Lafferty and Mark Nelson

April 22:  Newcastle with Lauren Pattison, Gavin Webster, Louise Young and another yet to be announced.
