Work starts on Mash Report series 3

Free audience tickets available

Filming is just about to start on the third series of The Mash Report.

Six new episodes of BBC Two’s satirical show, fronted by Nish Kumar, will be taped from the end of this month until early December.

The recommission of the show – which also features comics  Ellie Taylor, Steve N Allen and Rachel Parris as well as a rotating series of contributors including Geoff Norcott, Andrew Hunter Murray and Desiree Burch  – was announced at the end of series two in February.

It attracted between 800,000 and 960,000 viewers to BBC Two, less than average for its 10pm Wednesday slot.

But clips have proved popular online, not least when Piers Morgan retweeted a cartoon depicting him with his tongue inside Donald Trump’s arse following an interview deemed to be sycophantic. He complained that the was homophobic.

Another clip in which Parris offered men tips on not to harass women has  more than 28 million views on Facebook (although the platform has a notoriously lax metric for what counts as a ‘view’) and another million on YouTube.

The new series is being taped on Thursday nights at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire. Free tickets to be in the audience are available here
