Bafta hails Armando Iannucci
Armando Iannucci is to be presented with the Scottish Bafta award for his outstanding contribution to film and television.
The Glasgow-born satirist is currently enjoying success with his second film, The Death Of Stalin, which took almost £1million at the box office on its opening weekend.
He said: ‘I’m über-chuffed to be recognised by Bafta Scotland. It’s a great honour, it’s a fantastic way for me to pay homage to my Scottish roots and to where so many people helped me in my career.
‘A massive thank you to Bafta Scotland; I’m very proud to accept this wonderful award.’
He will receive the honour at a ceremony at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow on Sunday November 5.
Among the other nominees for awards on the night are BBC Two sitcom Two Doors Down, the documentary Billy Connolly: Portrait Of A Lifetime and BBC1 entertainment show All Round To Mrs Brown’s
