Conchords land in the UK again

First dates in seven years

Flight of the Conchords have announced their first UK and Ireland tour in more than seven years.

Kiwi duo Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie promise new material when they play nine dates here in March next year.

The tour is entitled ‘Flight of the Conchords sing Flight Of The Conchords Tour’ and tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday.

The schedule is:

March 19: London Eventim Apollo

March 20: London Eventim Apollo

March 22: Birmingham Birmingham Genting Arena

March 23: Manchester Manchester Arena

March 25: Dublin 3Arena

March 26: Glasgow The SSE Hydro

March 27: Leeds Leeds First Direct Arena

March 29: London The O2 Arena

April 1: Liverpool Echo Arena Liverpool

Clement and McKenzie have been following solo projects since their 2007 HBO sitcom, while continuing to talk of a reunion. This tour first launched in the US last summer.

Clement lent his voice to the character Nigel the cockatoo in the Rio films and made the vampire comedy film, What We Do In the Shadows. He ill play a giant named Fleshlumpeater in Steven Spielberg’s forthcoming movie adaptation of Roald Dahl’s The BFG.

Meanwhile McKenzie worked on the music for The Muppets movie and its follow-up Muppets Most Wanted. He is currently writing the screenplay and songs for a film adaption of Neil Gaiman’s book Fortunately the Milk as well as penning tunes for the upcoming Disney film Bob the Musical.
