Nick Page crowned English Comedian Of The Year
Gloucestershire-based stand-up Nick Page was crowned English Comedian of the Year last night.
He receives £1,000 plus a trip to Australia to perform at the Perth and Adelaide Fringe festivals after impressing judges at the Underbelly on the South Bank.
His victory comes after being runner-up in the competition last year
Runner-up was Newcastle’s Lauren Pattison, who just had the best reviewed comedy show at the Pleasance venues at the Edinburgh Fringe.
And third place went to the deadpan Simon Lomas, who last year was named Yorkshire New Comedian of the Year.
The English Comedian of the Year is open to performers of all levels of experience, not just new acts, and other finalists last night were: Adam Rowe, Clayton Jones, Darius Davies, Elliot Steel, Liam Withnail, Lou Conran and Radu Isac.
