Kathy Griffin to play UK and Ireland
Controversial American comedian Kathy Griffin is to play the UK and Ireland as part of a new global tour.
The show is called Laugh Your Head Off, a reference to the brouhaha caused when she posed for a picture with a prop severed head of Donald Trump.
She was investigated by the Secret Service and lost her work with CNN – but last month that she was no longer under federal investigation over the photo.
The tour uses the Trump photograph as its official image, but with the President’s bloodied head replaced by a globe.
Although Griffin quickly apologised for the stunt, she is less contrite now
‘President Trump just pardoned Joe Arpaio, who was essentially running a concentration camp in the Arizona desert,’ she said in an interview with The Cut this weekend. ‘He said there are some good Nazis, and he’s kicking out young adults who were brought here as kids by their parents, and I’m the one who has to continue to apologise?’
Griffin is to play Dublin Vicar Street on November 8, the London Palladium on November 10 and the Edinburgh Assembly Rooms on November 11.
Tickets for the London gig go on sale at 9am on Friday - but are available for the others shows now. (Here)
