Lloyd Griffith to host Soccer AM
Comedian Lloyd Griffith has joined Sky Sports show Soccer AM as a host.
He will join former Hull and Fulham midfielder Jimmy Bullard and existing presenter John Fendley on the programme, which has aired on Sky Sports 1 each Saturday morning of the football season since 1995.
The show returns at 10am on Saturday on new channel Sky Sports Premier League to coincide with the start of the new season.
Griffith has previously appeared on Soccer AM as a guest as well as hosting BBC Three series Taxi To Training in which he interviewed football stars as he gave them a life to their training sessions, in a format similar to Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee.
Previous presenters of Soccer AM include Tim Lovejoy, Andy Goldstein, and Helen Chamberlain, who is leaving to make way for the two new presenters.
Chris Ramsey was kicked off the show in 2012 for using the word ‘bumming’ – an incident which was the basis of a subsequent tour show.
Griffith, who describes himself as an aspiring goalkeeper, is currently appearing at the Edinburgh Fringe in Undated at the Pleasance Dome, ahead of an autumn tour.
