CBBC renews So Awkward
CBBC has commissioned a fourth series of its comedy series So Awkward.
The sitcom revolves around three socially awkward teenage girls – Lily Hampton, Jas Salford and Martha Fitzgerald – trying to fit in at school and deal with day-to-day dramas with boys and their families.
Cleo Demetriou, Ameerah Falzon-Ojo and Sophia Dall'aglio play the girls, while the cast also includes Susan Earl, Clive Rowe and Carla Mendonça.
Filmed in Manchester, the show started in 2015 and a third series is due to air this summer. And now another run of 12 half hour episodes have been commissioned for 2018.
The show is made by from Channel X North, which also has a third series of Mackenzie Crook’s hit BBC Four comedy Detectorists in the works. Managing director Alan Marke said he was ‘thrilled’ with the re-commission.
