Cannon and Ball play Vegas
Cannon and Ball are going to try to crack Vegas in a new ITV show.
The duo are among a bunch of 1980s comedy names heading to the States to prove they can still entertain. And the challenge is heightened as the audience will not know who they are.
Mick Miller, Kenny Lynch and Su Pollard are also reportedly lined up to appear in the programme, Last Laugh In Vegas. And none of those involved has played the resort before.
Eight acts will move in to a grand house in ‘Sin City’ to put together a one-off show at a prestigious venue on the Strip later this year.
The performance will then be the climax of the series, probably of five episodes, to air next year.
It would come at a good time for Tommy Cannon, 78, who was declared bankrupt last month.
ITV’s director of programme strategy, Rosemary Newell, this month told producers she was prepared to rejig schedules to accommodate factual entertainment one-offs or big ideas stripped across several nights.
More names are due to be confirmed for Last Laugh In Vegas later.
