Hasan Minhaj drops UK trip

Citing 'scheduling conflicts'

Daily Show comedian Hasan Minhaj has pulled out of his UK  trip this summer.

The American stand-up was due to perform three nights in the Gilded Balloon at the Edinburgh Fringe followed by a two-week run at London's Soho Theatre.

The Muslim comedian, who hosted this year's White House Correspondents' Dinner in the absence of Donald Trump, cited 'scheduling conflicts'.

.
A spokesman for the Soho Theatre said: 'We regret to inform you that due to a scheduling conflict, Hasan Minhaj’s performances for Edinburgh Fringe and Soho Theatre this August have been cancelled. We are working to reschedule the Soho Theatre shows for this autumn. Ticket holders are currently being refunded and will be notified of new dates first.'

Minhaj has been nominated as best comedian in this year's Teen Choice awards in the States, after his first stand-up special, Homecoming King, debuted on Netflix last month.

He is about to film a role as a CIA operative in the comedy film  The Spy Who Dumped Me, alongside Kate McKinnon and Mila Kunis, which is due out next year.
