Jack Whitehall joins C4's Host The Week

Second guest star on new comedy format

Jack Whitehall is to be one of the guest presenters of Channel 4’s new topical improvised sketch show Host The Week.

The comic follows I’m A Celebrity winner Scarlett Moffatt into the new format, from the producers of BBC Three hybrid hit Murder In Successville.

In each episode, the guest host will have to perform a number of unrehearsed items, with no idea what they are getting into. Segments will involve them co-hosting a satirical news show, presenting a chat show, and overseeing a game show with real-life contestants.

Channel 4 says: ‘Each segment will warmly celebrate the guest host’s life and career whilst also providing topical comedy.’

The show, originally described as 'Saturday Night Live meets immersive theatre’, will feature a troupe of improvisers and character comedians – not yet named – directed by Tom Parry from sketch group Pappy’s.

Moffatt is recording her show next Wednesday, with Whitehall lined up for the third of three episodes. The other guest host has yet to be confirmed by producers Tiger Aspect.
