Filming to start this summer

The new series of Still Game is a step closer to hitting TV screens, now the scripts have been finished

Co-creator Greg Hemphill has revealed on Twitter that he and Ford Kiernan have finished writing the eighth series.

He tweeted: ‘Still Game scripts finished!’ along with a string of emojis to represent the cast.

Six new episodes are due to be filmed on location in Glasgow and at BBC Scotland’s Dumbarton  Studios this summer for broadcast on BBC One later this year.

It will be the and second series to be networked both north and south of the border. Last year’s season attracted between 3 and 4.3million viewers to the channel.
