Comic's kidney donation 'a huge success'
Irish comedian Jarlath Regan has successfully donated a kidney to his brother Adrian.
The London-based stand-up yesterday posted a snap of them both celebrating in their hospital gowns, saying: ‘We’re both over the moon with the results. So far so good.’

He had flown to Rochester, Minnesota, for the life-changing operation, which he pronounced ‘huge success’, but also joking: ‘Little US etiquette question. Do you tip a surgeon?’
Regan has previously explained that he had no hesitation in agreeing to be a living organ donor for his brother.
He explained: ‘Basically [Adrian’s] had two flat tyres for most of his life, two kidneys that aren’t producing a chemical that can help him regulate calcium in his body.
‘His kidney function was down to 15 and normal is 85. There is no known reason why, considering the number of pints I've drank over the course of my life, but my kidney function is well over 100. So he's going to be rocket-powered by the time he gets this’.
Regan spoke about his decision in his last Edinburgh show, and said he would talk more in the next episode of his podcast, An Irishman Abroad.
