BBC renews Michael McIntyre’s Big Show

Third series for 2017

Michael McIntyre’s Big Show is to return to BBC One for a third series next year.

The corporation has today announced that it has commissioned a third series of six episodes.

It follows the launch of series two on Saturday night, which attracted an average of 6.2 million viewers, narrowly beating X Factor.

McIntyre said: ‘Making the Big Show has been the most fun I've had on TV. There are so many wonderful surprises and performances to come in the current series and I couldn't be more thrilled and excited to be making a third series next year.’

BBC commissioning editor Alan Tyler, added: ’Michael is a true star and in the Big Show he has brought something really special to Saturday nights.’

As before, the new series will be recorded in front of a live audience in the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.
