Steve Coogan joins Gogglebox
Steve Coogan is to appear on Gogglebox.
The Alan Partridge creator will be taking part in a celebrity edition of the ad hoc TV review show as part of Channel 4’s Stand Up To Cancer night on Friday.
This will be the first celebrity special without the narration of Caroline Aherne, who started her career with Coogan on the Manchester comedy scene.
When Aherne died in July, Coogan said: ‘I loved her. She used to make me cry with laughter. This is the first time she’s made me cry without laughing.’
And of his appearance on the show, he said ‘Cancer has robbed us of the most amazing talent this year and we’ve all lost people close to us. The work undertaken by the Stand Up To Cancer campaign is nothing short of fantastic.
Coogan will be appearing on the sofa with Anna Friel. Other contributors previously announced are England stars Jamie Vardy, Daniel Sturridge and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and pop stars Olly Murs and Niall Horan.
