Wrigglesworth lands US ad campaign
Tom Wrigglesworth has exploited his similarity to an American football hero to star in a new advertising campaign in the States.
The comedian bears an uncanny resemblance to Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and has previously made a YouTube video seeking his lookalike that has amassed more than 1.3million views.
Now he has signed up to advertise State Farm Insurance, a company Rodgers has previously fronted campaigns for using his touchdown celebrations.
The new campaign, which launched this weekend, starts with Wrigglesworth saying: 'I'm, Aaron Rodgers - well, close enough. The real Aaron Rodgers is busy.'
Then the comic explains how looking like the sports star 'has its advantages' as he is mobbed by adoring fans – signing a ball: 'Aaron Wroggers'
The commercial, which promotes the insurance giant's 'Discount Double Check' campaign, ends with the slogan: 'It pays to double check'.
Wrigglesworth tweeted about his role in the campaign: 'What fun!! ...the award for best comedic actor in a all-star quarterback parody goes to: Me!'
State Farm employs 65,000 people in the States and Canada, and is worth $76billion.
