Team captain in show hosted by Glee's Kevin McHale

Seann Walsh is to be a team captain on a new E4 panel show hosted by Glee star Kevin McHale.

The comic will appear opposite Radio 1’s Chris Stark in each weekly episode of Virtually Famous when it launches later this year.

The show is based on online content ‘from globally famous viral memes and twitter rants to the greatest You Tube posts’ and is the latest attempt from broadcaster to capitalise on growing internet content. Creators of the web footage will also make guest appearances.

The commission follows a trial run of the show in London earlier this month, with Jessica Knappett and James Acaster in the team captain roles. McHale, who plays Artie Abrams in Glee, hosted that run-through, too.

Virtually Famous has been commissioned by Channel 4’s head of formats Dom Bird and commissioning editor Jilly Pearce and is a co-production between Talkback and Hungry Bear Media.
