LIVE IN MANCHESTER: The Frog & Bucket – the comedy club that helped get Peter Kay, Johnny Vegas and Jason Manford on the road to stardom – celebrates its 20th anniversary tonight with a lot of the club’s regular performers including Tony Burgess, Smug Roberts, Mick Ferry and Dan Nightingale. Surprises are also promised.

RADIO: Something of a forgotten footnote in comedy, The Young Postmen is a surreal sitcom written by and starring Ben Miller about a group of postal workers. Dating from 1992, it is one of his first broadcast projects and also stars John Thomson and Alastair McGowan. Radio 4 Extra, 9am.

LIVE IN DUBLIN: A flying visit from one of America’s sultans of clean, observational comedy Jim Gaffigan, who performs a one-off show about everyday life at Vicar Street.

LIVE IN LONDON: Richard Gadd worn acclaim for his dark, psychotic show Cheese And Crack Whores at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe - although as it begins a short run at the Soho Theatre it also comes with a warning that laughing at his misfortune is not for those who want easy entertainment. 10pm, Thur-Sat this week and next.

LIVE IN HITCHIN: Doggett & Ephgrave present the quirky bill of Bec Hill and Kevin Eldon at their regular night at the Market Theatre. 9.15pm, £9.50
