Chortle Award nominees 2014
John Kearns and Bo Burnham lead this year’s Chortle Award shortlist with three nominations apiece.
Kearns, who won the best newcomer prize at Edinburgh last year, is now nominated for best show, breakthrough act and best character, sketch or improv act.
Meanwhile Burnham’s show What has earned him nominations for best tour, best DVD and the music and variety award.
There are also double nominations for Bridget Christie, Mark Thomas, Comedy Central’s Alternative Comedy Experience and Ed Gamble.
The Chortle Awards, with ALCATEL ONETOUCH and Universal Pictures (UK), will be handed out at a London ceremony on March 26, hosted by Arthur Smith.
Shortlists have been drawn up by an independent panel of critics – with the final victor chosen by public vote. The polls have opened now and close at midnight next Tuesday night, March 4.
