New ITV show for Paddy McGuinness

Celebrity karaoke, basically

Paddy McGuinness is to front another prime-time ITV entertainment show.

The comic and Take Me Out host is to front Your Face Sounds Familiar, which is essentially a live, celebrity version of Stars In Their Eyes.

The twist is that celebrities will have no control over which musical star they will have to impersonate – but will be given one week’s notice of their task.

McGuinness will co-host with Alesha Dixon, who has made a career from talent shows having been a judge on Strictly Come Dancing and Britain’s Got Talent.

Meanwhile, the judges for Your Face Sounds Familiar will be stand-up Julian Clary, former Spice Girl Emma Bunton and a guest judge each week.

The show is already an international hit with 20 countries having their own version, and a US series in the pipeline.

It will launch on ITV later in 2013.

McGuinness said: ‘To be given a live show on Saturday night TV is a massive honour. Hairbrushes at the ready, for a proper good old Saturday night sing along.  It's an honour to be in the same company as Ant and Dec, Dermot O'Leary and lest we not forget, Russ Abbot.’
