No, Louis CK isn't playing Kyiv
Louis CK isn’t known for his ability to pick up signs that he shouldn’t go ahead with his actions.
But even he has realised that he shouldn’t play a stand-up gig Kyiv as the Russian troops descend.
As Chortle reported a fortnight ago, the shamed comic was scheduled to play the Ukrainian capital tonight and tomorrow.
And the New York Post today reported that he would still perform in the National Palace of Arts despite the ongoing invasion.
However, their report is based on an old tweet and an unofficial ticket resale site.
The gigs are no longer on sale at the venue nor listed on CK’s website among his other European site.
The Post based its story on a tweet writer Patrick Vermillion put out earlier in the week, passing on a message to ticket-holders which read: ‘Dear attendants, Louis C.K. performance will take place, as planned, on February 25 and 26, 2022. Tickets for Louis C.K. show purchased earlier remain valid for new dates and do not require an exchange.
But after the story appeared, Vermillion pointed out that thye were using out-of-date information.
‘I tweeted this on Tuesday morning,’ he posted. ‘Please use discretion before spreading false information also @newyorkpost I am not a fan
Which he followed up with: ‘Talking to you @nypost stop spreading false information.’
