Filming starts on Daddy Issues series 2

With David Morrissey and Aimee Lou Wood

Filming has begun on the second series of Daddy Issues, the comedy starring David Morrissey and Aimee Lou Wood as father and daughter.

The first series last year attracted an average of 1.6million viewers per episode in the first 28 days after it launched on BBC Three and iPlayer.

Set in Stockport, the first season revolved around Gemma (Wood), who discovered she was  pregnant after a random hook-up. With her sister Catherine (Sharon Rooney) in prison and her mum Davina travelling around the world to find herself, Gemma had no choice but to turn to her hapless father Malcolm (Morrissey) for support.

At the end of the series Gemma went into labour at Rita's (Sarah Hadland’s) salon, then giving birth to baby Sadie with friends Cherry (Taj Atwal) and Xander (Arian Nik) by her side. Meanwhile Malcolm rushed to make it to the hospital in time, with toxic friend Derek (David Fynn) in tow.

Creator Danielle Ward has written six new half-hour episodes, which are being made by Fudge Park. No broadcast date for series 2 has yet been set.
