Air dates set for David Baddiel’s three live shows

The first original stand-up commissions for Sky Arts

Sky has confirmed the broadcast dates for David Baddiel’s three stand-up specials.

The shows – the first original stand-up commissions for Sky Arts – will air across three Saturdays, starting on November 9, at 10pm.

All were recorded at London’s Royal Court Theatre, having toured between 2013 and 2021.

Baddiel said: ‘I was very happy to discover that, at my advanced age, I remembered these three shows well enough to perform them again on stage.  I think that in itself was considered enough of a miracle for Sky Arts to film them.’

The news comes on the day it was announced he would be reuniting with Frank Skinner for Celebrity Gogglebox.

The shows are:

November 9: My Family: Not the Sitcom – a ‘massively disrespectful’ celebration of the lives of David’s late mother, Sarah and dementia-ridden father, Colin, which ran on London’s West End for 15 weeks and saw David nominated for an Olivier Award.

November 16:  Fame: Not the Musical – where David examines his strange relationship with the New Lad / token Jew / comedy rock’n’roller / football singer-songwriter persona he’s had for 30 years.

November 23: Trolls: Not the Dolls – stories of the dark, terrible and absurd interactions he’s had with internet trolls.

All three hour-long specials are produced by Avalon and executive produced by Jon Thoday and Richard Allen-Turner.
