Ricky Gervais announces US and Canada dates

Including a return to the venue where he broke records

Ricky Gervais has today announced  four North American   dates for his new Mortality tour.

The comic will play Radio City Music Hall, New York, on April 25; the Hollywood Bowl on May 31; Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena on August 13 and Laval’s Place Bell on  August 16.

The last time he played the Hollywood Bowl, in May last year, Gervais claimed  the world record for the highest grossing comedy gig of all time, netting £1.41million from that show alone. It means the 17,500 fans paid an average of £80 each.

After his Los Angeles gig, Gervais said it was ‘one of the most surreal nights of my life’, tweeting:  ‘I can’t even imagine what my mum would think about me playing the Hollywood Bowl. I hope she would be horrified by the language, tell me I looked fat, and be secretly proud,’

All 20 UK dates for Mortality have sold out, but more will be announced soon,   including London dates.

Tickets for the US and Canada shows go on general on sale from 10am Friday local time at LiveNation.com.

As Gervais has done with his previous tours, a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to charity - £1.91 million was donated to worldwide animal charities at the end of his Armageddon tour in 2023.
