Atsuko Okatsuka announces UK and Ireland dates

...after her special airs on Sky

Asian-American comedian Atsuko Okatsuka has announced four UK and Ireland dates next year – after her debut special airs on Sky.

The comic will play Dublin’s Vicar Street on February 4,  the O2 Academy Glasgow on February 20, the Manchester Academy the next day and the Eventim Apollo in London on 22.

It has also been announced today that her 2022  special The Intruder –  directed by Tig Notaro – will be available on Sky from December.

Okatsuka said: 'I’m so excited to be back in the UK. Last time, you all packed out my two sold-out Hackney Empire shows, and I’ve been eager to come back ever since.  It’s always so cool to travel and see how my comedy connects with fans all over the world.’

According to the publicity, her new show, entitled Full Grown, is about ‘why Atsuko's the way she is… the desire and need for family and sense of community, and to ultimately, not take life so seriously’ as well as tackling  making friends as an adult, the facade of marriage and embracing dad jokes.

Tickets go on general sale on Friday.

Okatsuka also has a role in the forthcoming Apple  film called Outcome alongside Jonah Hill, Keanu Reeves, Cameron Diaza nd David Spade.
