Andrew Mensah hosts the fundraiser at the Hippodrome in London

Hip-hop and RnB radio station Capital Xtra is to host a charity comedy night at London’s Hippodrome.

Andrew Mensah will compare the gig on October 24 with acts including Axel Blake, Kae Kurd, Kyrah Gray and Finlay Christie.

Money raised will go to Make Some Noise, the charity run by the station’s parent company Global to support groups working in  mental health, poverty and homelessness.

Matt Deverson, Capital XTRA’s managing editor, said: ‘Much like music, comedy is a fantastic way of bringing people together in a shared experience, and we are absolutely thrilled to announce the Capital Xtra Comedy Club. 

‘With an incredible billing made up of some of the hottest comedians on the circuit right now, we hope that this special, one-off comedy night will be a superb way of raising funds for the dedicated charities that Global’s Make Some Noise supports.’

Tickets will go on sale  from 8am on Friday priced from £24.50 to £29.50, plus booking fee.
